Book Progress Update: April 2026
Not much to update. I’m still processing audiobook clippings every day. I have 150 more audiobooks to go, which will take me until October or November to process at this pace. It’s tedious work and gets discouraging when seen as one big task, so I try to take it one day at a time and repeat to myself, “Show up, make progress. That’s all you have to do. Show up, make progress.”
On an unrelated note, fuck AI for ruining em dashes. It uses them so often that any piece of writing with them looks AI-generated. Commas, periods, or parentheses can replace them, but em dashes added a visual rest and cadence change that relaxed a sentence with overlapping thoughts without having to break it. They just scream AI now. We had a good run, em dashes—I’ll miss you.
